WHEELS MODIFICATION

Before seriously start the building process, I must see if I'm able to build the good rims at 1/24 scale using the photoetching technique.

I have already used it on the Discovery model, and the Jeep project helped me to simplify and improve it (see the photodetching page)

During my tests I also etch a license plate, with also good results. So the photoetching process will be also used for the suspensions mounts, the central console, the mirrors, the door latches, the seats mounts, the safety belts buckles, the spare wheel mount, the tire stop... and the Swiss Army knife! So 20 parts.

The original model rims are hollowed out to just keep the external ring.
A inner ring is made with a pvc pipe.
The circumference of the photoetched star is cut to help to obtain a round shape.
The round shape is made on a wood part.
